F&E Spinach, Raspberry Vinagrette, Walnut Pieces

This past week or so I have been slowly eating away at a bag of Spinach I bought at fresh & easy. While this might not sound so exiting, i have enjoyed it in my omelette’s in the mornings, in my burgers, and even in a salad. Although they (fne) sells a Spinach Salad Kit, I thought I would save myself some money in the long run and buy the ingredients separately.
I ended up with a bag 10 oz (?) if i recall correctly of Washed Spinach, a bottle of F&E Raspberry Vinaigrette (12oz(?)) and a bag of F&E Walnut Pieces.
Ill start off by saying that the spinach I got was very crisp, and it lasted for almost a week after opening.
The Raspberry Vinaigrette is a great dressing, although I must say it is a bit strong and on the “vinegary” , so I used about 3 tablespoons for about 2 1/2 hand fulls of spinach, which provided just the right amount or sweet and sour flavoring from the dressing.
I followed by adding a small hand full of walnuts, after which I mix and serve.
I thoroughly enjoyed this salad, which Fresh & Easy provides in a ready to go bag, or as separate ingredients, Although I should warn for squished, and sucked in bags, which might be a sign of a hole in the container, also examine your spinach make sure none of the leaves are breaking down, as this can be a sign of spoilage.
Also transfer your spinach into a large zip-loc bag for optimal results when storing.
Organic Vanilla SOYmilk

This is a great product for health-concious consumers. It carries the organic seal, which means it contains at least 95% organic ingredients. I dont know about you but I have tried some foods with the “healthy” label and most of the time they taste nasty; but this was not the case, the organic vanilla soymilk is tasty. Is not sweet at all; the vanilla flavor gives it the perfect taste. Contains 90 calories per serving ( serving size 240ml). Total fat 3.5g, vitamins A,D, and B12, calsium, iron, raboflavin, and more. Oh! And for the cholesterol freaks, it contains no cholesterol, none, nada. Soymilk contains about the same proportion of protein as cow’s milk, about 8g. Some of the benefits of soymilk are: contains less saturated fat then cow’s, is the best choice for lactose intolerant people, it may reduce the risk of osteoporosis and heart disease. Is worth trying it. 
Fusio:Açaí Mixed Berry

In recent years, the Açaí berry has been receiving much hype due to its great anti-oxidant properties. If you are one who has not heard about this berry, you can read about it here, Wikipedia. Apart from a large hype coming from the MonaVie group, FNE has also taken to the hype to try and generate some sales. A few months ago they released their “fusio” drinks, amoung the few flavors one of them was Acai Mixed Berry. I have finally gotten around to trying it and I must say it is indeed nothing special. Taste very similar to the v8splash drinks. They really have nothing that stands out in my mind. When I take a look at the ingredients list it is jam packed with so much other stuff that it takes a second look to spot that it contains, Acai Puree.
I think this juice is ill named, and does not earn its acai mixed berry subtitle. It is overly sweet, with 26grams of sugar for every 8 oz. The distinctive flavors are Apple, Blueberry, and Grape. This drink makes claims on its label stating, 1/2 cup of vegetables per serving. I would highly recommend making your own juice in the juicer, my guess is it would be alot healthier for you! This juice left me disappointed, maybe they should get back to simplicity in some of their items. How ever if you do happen to purchase this juice, make sure you have some water handy, as you might be thirsty afterwards, or simply want to water this down.
As for vitamins, and other nutritional benefits this drink offers it adds;
15% Vitamin A for 8oz Serving
100% Vitamin C for 8 oz Serving
2% Calcium for 8 oz Serving
2%iron for 8oz Serving
10% Vitamin E for 8oz Serving
0% Fiber
which seems awfully weak, when a nice raw navel orange contains much better nutrishment as you can see on this website…

Hearty Fruit + Nut Muesli

A few months back i recall seeing a new array of items in the breakfast cereals aile. Among one of those was the Fresh & Easy Hearty Fruit + Nut Muesli. First you might be wondering what the heck is muesli, I know for a fact those words more or less ran through my mind. I have now gotten around to trying this cereal which is in a category of its own. It’s basically a blend of rolled oats, wheat, raisins, dried cranberries, dates, almonds and blueberries, with molasses and cinnamon for added sweetness…
Its a very raw type of cereal in fact, which at some point I plan to experiment with and try to ‘cook’ it if you will, to make it nice and hearty. Anyhow, the muesli tasted very raw and oaty (like rolled oats :-P) the dried fruit certainly added to the sweetness of the molasses and cinnamon. I would highly recommend this although I found the package to feel small it is almost the same in terms of weight as what you might get with another cereal. I enjoyed it several serving with and without milk.
Coming in at 16oz with about 8 servings per box at 180 calories a serving. It does not make such a bad treat for people watching their diet. To read up on some history on Muesli here are some useful links, that I have read myself. Also, you can make some muesli at home! You would have quite a bit more control over substance! One of these links also make the comparison that muesli is raw granola, differing only that one is raw, while the other is baked.

Vanilla Lowfat Yogurt

The vanilla lowfat yogurt tastes almost like plain yogurt but not exactly. This yogurt combines two of the four basic tastes, sweetness and sourness. First, I tasted the sweetness, but this yogurt is not as sweet as yoplait or dannon yogurts, just something you should know. The after taste is sour, not so strong, it is just perfect. And of course, the vanilla falvor is what gives it the unique taste. This is the perfect snack for me, it has no friut pieces in it, so thats something that made me enjoy it even more. This yogurt is creamy, you can combine it with granola or dried fruit. Its a good source of protein 8g per serving, which in this case would be 227g; 15 calories from fat, so is not bad at all. Fresh & easy offers a variety of different flavors; so far I have only tried this one, as soon as I try another one I’ll post a review about it!!
Milk Chocolate Bar

- This time I’m going to write about one of the Fresh & Easy products with the most popular flavors in the world, Chocolate. In specific, Milk chocolate. The milk chocolate bars at Fresh & Easy are enormous ( NET WT: 17.64 OZ) yeah more that a pound!! Thats a good thing, means you can share or save it for the next time you are craving something sweet and delicious. Well theres not much I can say about chocolate, we all know it is delectable. If we compare this chocolate bar with a Hershey’s one there is really no difference; same amount of calories per serving (220) and a difference of 10 calories when it comes to calories from fat. Milk chocolate is one of my favorites, tasty and with the perfect sweet flavor. Its very sensitive to temperature and humidity, so store it in a cool, dry place. Don’t eat large quantities because it could increase the risk of Obesity.
HONEY WHEAT BRAIDED PRETZELS

Mmm…they are yummy!! Thats exactly what I said when I tried the honey wheat braided pretzels. First, I identified the sweet flavor; Then, as I chewed, I noticed it was kinda dry , I recommend to try it with something to drink like hot chocolate or simply coffee. The saltiness of the pretzel goes well with any of these beverages. I have eaten pretzels as part of my breakfast and as a snack in the afternoon, if you dip them in jalapeño cheese they are delicious, their firm texture make this possible. If we go to the nutrients, they are not a great source of calories and fat, so no worries you can have as many as you want!!
CRANBERRY ALMOND CRUNCH CEREAL

In my opinion, the cranberry almond crunch cereal is very tasty!! Is a low calorie cereal; Only 210 calories per serving. It contains 4g of total fat, and no cholesterol at all; so if you prefer to eat healthy, this is the cereal you should definitively try.
It is also low in sugar content, but it does not mean you will be having an insipid meal. The almonds and granola clusters add the sweet taste to it. The dried cranberries provide the fruity/sourish taste.
Its crunchy. I really enjoy it soggy. I’m kind of picky when it comes to cereals; I give this cereal a 9 out of 10 in quality and flavor. Worth trying it…really!!!
Unlike most cereals, it contains no artificial preservatives flavors or colors…it natural. Oh!! one more good thing about it; its box is made out of 100%
recycled cardboard.
